What this is
A free browser-based converter for legacy Bengali text encodings. No account, no charge, no installation.
Acceptable use
Use it for anything you like. In particular:
- Do not use it to send malware, or to process unlawful content.
- Automated scraping at a rate that degrades the service for others is not permitted. If you need bulk conversion, ask first.
No warranty
This tool is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Conversion between these encodings is genuinely hard to do perfectly:
- Bijoy stores vowel signs before the consonant, so ordering bugs in third-party converters are common.
- Documents that mix several legacy encodings may need more than one pass.
- Some historical documents contain characters that no mapping covers.
Always keep the original file. Do not convert the only copy of something you care about. If a conversion looks wrong, try the other direction, and if in doubt, retypeset from the source.
No liability
We are not liable for data loss arising from reliance on this tool, including documents you convert without keeping a backup.
Your content stays yours
As set out in the privacy policy, your text never reaches us. Nothing here grants us any rights over it, because we never receive it.
